Join Ladybird Insurance for a career that is ‘spot’ on!
The chance to work for an award winning company doesn’t come along everyday but that exactly what’s on offer at leading insurance specialist Ladybird Insurance as it looks to add more faces to its young and vibrant insurance team.
Based at Bordsley Hall near Redditch, and started just over three years ago, Ladybird Insurance has gone from strength-to-strength, increasing its staff 10 fold and picking up not one, but two prestigious industry awards.
Founder and owner Lisa McPherson says “When people think of car insurance they think of it as grey and boring but when I started Ladybird insurance, my plan was to have an insurance company that was anything but. The way I wanted to achieve that was through my staff.”
“When I started Ladybird Insurance, I purposely moved to this area as I had heard that a competitor had closed an office here, making people redundant. I knew the area had a strong skilled workforce and, over the last three years this has been proved time and time again.”
“We have grown phenomenally over the last three years and that’s all down to our staff and their hard work. We started off with just five team members, that number has now grown to 50 headed by three well known local managers, Mike Wall, Richard Knight and Andy Higgins.”
“It’s not just me who thinks we have great staff,” continued Lisa. “At the end of 2005 we won two prestigious industry awards, the Insurance Times ‘Team of the Year’ and the Insurance Age ‘Team of the Year’ which is great as it means the industry is recognising the hard work of everyone at Ladybird.
The company pride itself on using local talent and investing in its staff. Over 90 per cent of the staff are from the surrounding area, and all can take advatage of obtaining NVQ's qualifications funded by the company.
Redditch man Stuart Whalley 24 joined Ladybird as a part-time team member to fund his studies. Four years on, and now a full-time member of the team, he has just been short-listed for the prestigious Young Broker of the Year Award.
“It’s just fantastic,” he says. “I have been here for less than four years and I’m being short-listed for a national industry award! I never imagined that would happen but its all down to the training and support that I have received from the team here. They are a great bunch of people to work with and they are as proud of my nomination as I am.”
“We are growing all the time and we are launching a new product in the Autumn which will be a first for the insurance industry. To support this, and the fact that we are continuously growing, we need to put a dynamic team in place to offer the same great service to our customers both new and old.
“And who knows,” concluded Lisa, “maybe it will be one of our new team members who is next to be short-listed for an industry award.
